Because it looks like thin pleather glued to cardboard. It feels cheap, the lid opens with no hinge, it just bends the cardboard. Definitely not $90 in stuff here. The nicest piece is the strap that goes on the bike.

Good quality, heavy duty.  Better material than you might expect and seems reliable.  They are a little big on a moped, the same thing at about 3/4 scale would be perfect, but overall looks to be very good quality.
