bought kit because I wanted to do a cheap rebuild on a trashed non running maxi I got from a friend
was pleasantly surprised when it ripped pretty good, there's no low end at all (like at all. like "pedals are needed to start moving" at all) but once it passes the 15-20mph point it easily coasts all the way up to 40-45mph and stays there easily. you might need to bend your exhaust side pedal a bit (I had to, it was very lightly scraping against the jammy pipe). Make sure to buy some new jets, the carb comes with an 80-something jet but my current setup is running a bit rich with a 61.

No bolts for meh bolt on kit

I can't bolt up meh kit bc it didn't come with any bolts.... TO THE HARDWARE STORE!!! Besides that everything was packaged great and greased up nicely. I bought the 70 sha jet (at sea level) per the other review and had to clean up the included gaskets but it ran. This mother fucker is now a slug off the line but will hit about 40mph. I actually took off the pipe in this kit and made this http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?1,141515,141515#msg-141515 I chopped the pipe to the first indent and it gave me a quicker take off and a crazy power-band from 10ish mph to the new cap off of 35mph (flats).... never installed a kit? I put this kit on my maxi and it was great to have parts that all went together and were easy to tune. After playing with the jetting (at sea level probably upper 60's lower 70's jet sizes) 40mph was easily right there. Note, the exhaust flange may not seal perfect. I used high temp silicone on the flange to get a good seal. Sounds great! In summary, if you have a stock maxi and want something that makes it more ride-able and faster for cheap. This is it.

Kit went on like butta decent power sounds raaaaad, lever choke carb can be kind of a pain to get the throttle positioned right and I had to use a larger intake on my magnum to get it to clear right. might be different for maxis. overall this is super sweet pair it with a phgb for even more sweetness
