Use fuel resistant thread tape on the tank threads and the threads on the cock where the coupler nut threads on. Don't trust the o-ring to keep any sort of seal. No need to over tighten that way. Yeahhh, lots of bad reviews and it's not the best quality but it will work if you do it right. It's cheep, so just buy it if ya need it! 4 stars because it needs a little work.

Despite the negative reviews and warnings, I purchased this petcock. Big mistake. The metal is indeed terrible and you can't screw it down tight enough to keep the part from leaking. The threads strip out and it's game over. Trying to mod it to make it work but I'd rather have never bought it in the first place. AVOID this part.

This thing is a real piece of crap. I've never seen such poor quality metal in my life. Really. For anything. It's like they purposely searched the earth for the worlds worst metal and were like, yeah!!! this is it! The threads are terrible, super shallow and seem like they would strip really easily. Haven't run fuel through it yet but I'll almost bet money its gonna leak. On top of it, the 90 degree elbow faces the wrong way so you can't use the cool lazer/general feature of tucking the line into the frame. Don't really know why I even gave it two stars. Wishful thinking?

Looks good and fit with no mods. Hose outlet is Not on the same side as stock but 1/4 turn and it works fine. 1981 QT50. got a 2nd one might cut the (on position) tub a little shorter, has me switching to reserve at 1/2 tank. still vary happy.
