The fan blades will rub on the cylinder fins pretty good, bummer. I'll update this if I can get it to work.
It's a nice piece, I just wish I knew this before buying it - welp now you know
***Update 6/4/15*** Now 5 stars. I finally got around to working on this. I put a spare 103 fan on the sander and shaved off little by little until it spun freely. Cleaned it up and an exacto knife and boom, actually works. I did not have to shim or space anything, but that may be because I had to hack up the fan cover for the Gila. Regardless, it works, and my temps are down. If you have a V1 and an HPI, regardless of the kit, you'll want one of these. You CAN make it work!

you need to use a washer or two behind the fan cover in order for the fan to not hit the cover. it works great... and now you get a fan on your hpi on your v1... wow.

You might need to play with the spacing a bit to make this work. A couple washers behind the whole fan assembly to get the spacing right so it doesn't rub. I personally haven't had one of V1 adapted HPI yet and I'm not sure how far the flywheel sits out.
Does not fit with Gila kit
