no, it's not for people at are lazy. these were stock on almost every moped ever made. the reason is that you can disconnect the wires when you have to pull the engine instead of cutting then and re-soldering them. soldering is for permanent connections, like those in the stator and so on.
these make it so easy to test, connect, replace, and gather all of your wiring connections into one spot like it should be.
