this is the clamp style 15mm PHBG dellorto carburetor with three jets (main, pilot, idle), pull style choke, mixture screw, and endless tuning opportunities thanks to a wide variety of needles, throttle slides, jets, etc. they solve many of the problems had with old inefficient carbs on motobecane, peugeot, puch, minarelli, sachs, garelli... also available in rubber mount style, black race edition, and other sizes. all the jets are available as well.

I’ve tried two of this sized PHBG on two different bikes. Both times I ran into float bowl foaming issues I couldn’t ever fix. I tried hooking lines to the overflows and running them to the highest point on the frame, nothing worked, they’d always spit fuel and start to surge. I swapped to 19mm PHBGs and the issue immediately resolved. Both bikes were high revving French bikes, so this carb is maybe fine on lower rpm bikes, or bikes that don’t vibrate quite as bad, but I’d stick to bigger PHBGs and use a SHA if you don’t need that big a carb
