5 of 5 So pretty! October 21, 2024

Quick warning -- bought this to do the famed "throw in a round bing atomizer to run round jets on a Sachs square intake" trick.

Unfortunately I didn't pull my 85/12/104A (the famed "good" Sachs carb with a brass tube and no needle, you know if you have one) apart first, so I didn't notice that the 104s don't run an atomizer. If you were going to do this, your best bet is to drill and tap for PHBG/SHA jets or flip the intake and run a SHA or round bing.

Bummer.

With that said, it's pretty and shiny, and I think I can make my partner a nice necklace for Valentine's Day so 5 stars.

Use this, along with the needle, to tune in the idle on your bing, like an idle jet.

1/14/163 uses a 2.12

Look Your carb up here by number to see what it came fitted with stock: http://www.bingpower.de/en/service/tuning-manuals/

You need the correct atomizer to be a happy person! Tuning had me wanting to kill myself until a MA folk/Ken informed me that a 2.17 atomizer in a 12mm bing is no bueno! got myself a 2.22 and my moped is muuuuuuuch happier! Has power everywhere! Up, down left....well, sort of. I still need to fine tune my tuning, but much better! Mucho bueno.

#222 atomizer for 12-14mm round bing carburetors
#217 atomizer for 15mm round bing carburetors
#215 atomizer for 17mm round bing carburetors
These sizes are what puch bing carburetors came with stock and are a good starting point for correct jetting .
Of course all these atomizers fit all 12-17mm round bings so buy several sizes to tune your bike perfecto
