Comparing this to non-dampened sprockets, I am a believer. I'm probably going to continue using dampened sprockets from now on if the size I want is available. The ordinary sprockets cause a 'whining' sound when the chain is pulled against the sprocket, and with the rubber dampening material, we have silence. The issue with this sprocket is that the rubber dampening material impinged on the rear shaft circlip. I had to trim away a notch in the dampening rubber in order to install the sprocket. But it works and works well.

Well 2, spin the chain and DAMPEN it. Its got the spin part down but the rubber is at minimum 1/8 inch away from the chain. This sprocket will -never- dampen like OEM orignal.
