In my opinion, the two ring piston and aluminum jug combo are why this kit rules. First off the dual rings shed heat better as well as lowers, if not eliminate blow-by. Regarding cylinder material, I heard from several reliable sources that the aluminum version can handle hitting temps near 500 and keep running unscathed. I bet a cast iron would never even make it to those temps. Nevertheless my kit has never hit temps higher than 425 and now that I have it properly setup and tuned it will only hit 408 if I climb a very steep road for over 3/4 of a mile. If I keep climbing it stays around that 408. NEVER GETS HOTTER! Around my hood on the flats and minor hills ripping hard it will rarely break 350. 11x52 pulls amazingly off the line and leaves me enough top speed that I don't hesitate to take this bike wherever I want (e.g., solo Golden Gate crossing and Marin Headlands blasting session are not a prob). http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,4034785
