4 years on, in a sea foggy environment, they got a little rusty, but they still function great. Better than stock! Put them on my 83 honda passport.

Stiffness in New Shocks/Dampers is Normal
September 11, 2022

'78 Free Spirit Deluxe - 350mm. I've had these on a few weeks.
First, the stock shocks measured 13 5/8" centre to centre - that is 346mm. They fit fine.
Second, they're stiff at first ... ALL SHOCKS ARE STIFF AT FIRST. After a few weeks of riding, the springs have broken in.
First impression; it's like an entirely new vehicle. Much more solid ride. Going over speed bumps or pot holes no longer sends the vehicle into conniptions. Steering improved over 80%. No more bouncy, bouncy, acceleration better, road feel much better. Handling is like a different set of wheels. Cornering is over 75% improved. Manoeuvrability at a new level.
Main criticism, is the old rear shocks were so droopy, I wasn't aware of how floppy my front forks are. Front forks more easily bottom out. I knew the front forks were old, but they feel even more loose and more floppy. After a few weeks of riding, the shocks broke in, and my front forks have normalized again.
Highly recommended.

Too stiff for moped

They look nice but are way too stiff for a moped. Probably made for a heavy motorcycle. They only move about half an inch.
