Anyone will tell you length is what matters most, gotsta measure or your guna fall short of that goal or worse yet, you'll exceed the distance of your destination and have a plethora of extra centimeters without purpose

its always important to keep the speedo cable from having minimal bending, or being stressed at all or the tip will break off and you wont know how slow youre going!! made for the puch vdo drive, but after changing your bars, having shorter or longer forks and even tire size calls for some measurements from drive to speedometer, with a little allowance for play!
